Quick Strikes | Timbers riding 15-game home opener unbeaten streak

Diego Valeri, Timbers @ Caps, 5.1.19

The Portland Timbers will play their 2019 home opener when they take on Los Angeles FC Saturday night in the newly transformed Providence Park (7:30pm PT, ESPN2). Here are five numbers to know for #PORvLA in the latest Quick Strikes.

15 Dating back to the club's USL era, the Portland Timbers are undefeated in their last 15 home openers with a record of 10-0-5. Portland has won each of their last three home openers, with midfielder Diego Valeri having scored four goals in those three matches.

7 The home opener streak isn't the only unbeaten run the Timbers are on currently. Since Aug. 29 of last year, Portland is unbeaten in its last seven matches at Providence Park (regular season and playoffs) and has conceded just three goals while scoring 12 in that span.

3 In just 115 minutes with the Timbers, Brian Fernandez has already scored three goals. Fernandez is the first Timbers player in their MLS era to score three goals in his first two matches with the club and the second Timbers player in the 44-year history of the club to accomplish the feat.

17 For the 17th time in his MLS career, Valeri had both a goal and an assist in the same match when he did so against Philadelphia last Saturday. Valeri now has 71 goals and 72 assists in his seven seasons with the Timbers.

6Sebastián Blanco has delivered six assists this season, with all them coming in Portland's last seven matches. Since April 13, Blanco leads MLS with his six assists.
