Quick Strikes | Two of league's most prolific scorers will be on display Sunday

Brian Fernandez #2, Timbers vs. Fire, 8.14.19

Matching up for the first time since the 2018 MLS Cup, the Portland Timbers will welcome Atlanta United FC to Providence Park Sunday (7pm PT, TICKETS, FS1). Here are five numbers to know for #PORvATL in the latest edition of Quick Strikes.

80Diego Valeri now sits on 80 assists with a career-high 15 having come this season. The midfielder is one of 14 players in MLS history to have 80 career assists.

10 Since making his debut in May, Brian Fernandez has scored 10 goals in MLS matches with none of them having been penalty kicks. Fernandez's 10 goals are the second-most non-PK goals in MLS in that span behind only Atlanta United's Josef Martinez.

267 Since making his debut in April 2011, midfielder Diego Chara has played in 267 MLS matches (regular season and playoffs). Only three players have played in more MLS matches in that span and two are on Atlanta United (Darlington Nagbe and Jeff Larentowicz).

1+1 In Portland's victory on Wednesday, Jorge Moreira became the third different Timbers player this season to register both a goal and an assist in the same match. Moreira joins Valeri and Sebastián Blanco as players to accomplish the feat.

2 Sunday's match will be the second time that Atlanta United coach Frank de Boer has managed a match at Providence Park. The former Dutch International was the manager of Ajax when they took on the Timbers in a 2011 friendly.
