PORTLAND, Ore. – Diego Valeri scored a second half goal but the Portland Timbers lost 2-1 to Seattle Sounders FC at Providence Park Sunday night.

10' - CHANCE (POR) - Timbers midfielder Cristhian Paredes, left with open space outside of the Sounders 18-yard box, fired a skipping shot from distance that Seattle goalkeeper Stefan Frei got down to save but couldn't collect the rebound. Portland's Marvin Loría raced in with a shot that Frei then pushed over the bar.

22' - GOAL (SEA) - The Sounders scored in the first half as Jordan Morris came down the left channel before crossing a ball inside the six-yard box that bounced around a few players. Seattle midfielder Cristian Roldan found it and tapped it in to make it 1-0 for the visitors.

46' - CHANCE (POR) - Portland's Sebastián Blanco curled a cross in from the left side for Jeremy Ebobisse on the far post. Ebobisse deflected the ball on frame but Frei made the save.

47' - GOAL (SEA) - Seattle made it 2-0 when Jordan Morris carried to the endline and cut a ball back to Raúl Ruidíaz who hit it into the goal.

54' - GOAL (POR) - The Timbers came back with a goal of their own in the 54th minute. On a free kick right on the edge of the 18-yard box arc, Diego Valeri hammered a shot that deflected off the wall and past Frei to make the score 2-1.

59' - CHANCE (POR) - Valeri went looking for another when he curled a 20-yard shot that Frei had to dive to his left to parry away. Ebobisse collected the rebound, chipped a ball into the mixer that Paredes snapped a header down but wide.

87' - CHANCE (POR) - Blanco sent a ball to the back post that was headed back near the penalty spot. Timbers forward Brian Fernandez tried a bicycle kick but missed and Frei grabbed the ball.

90+6' - CHANCE (POR) - A cross from Valeri, out from the far right side, found a leaping Blanco on the left post but his header was just over the bar.
