Larrys Mabiala delivered two thumping headers for the first and only brace of his professional career. It is also the only time a Timbers defender has ever had multiple goals in a match.

All three goals were assisted by Diego Valeri, who became the only Timbers player to ever have three assists in a road match. Valeri is one of only two MLS players over the last 15 seasons to have multiple three-assist halves.

The victory marked a four-game unbeaten streak for the Timbers against the Sounders. Portland's four-match run was the longest unbeaten run against their rival since 2004.

Just seven minutes after Seattle tied the match, Armenteros gave Portland a 2-1 lead. The goal came in the middle of a seven goals-in-nine matches run for the Swedish forward.

Portland's win was the 10th consecutive match without a loss for the team in a streak that continued for 15 matches. The 15-game unbeaten streak is tied for the longest in the team's MLS era.
