Quick Strikes | Timbers return to action against Galaxy in MLS is Back Tournament

The Portland Timbers will get their 2020 MLS is Back Tournament campaign underway when they take on the LA Galaxy on Monday (7:30pm PT, FS1) in Group F at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at the Walt Disney World Resort. Here are five numbers to know for #LAvPOR in the latest Quick Strikes.

127It will be 127 days between Portland's 1-0 victory over Nashville SC and Monday's kickoff. It was also be the Timbers first game away from home since playing Real Salt Lake in the Audi 2019 MLS Cup Playoffs on Oct. 19, 2019.  

280Midfielder Diego Chara has played 280 MLS (regular season and playoff) matches for the Timbers. Chara's debut came against the Galaxy on April 23, 2011 when the Colombian entered the match as a substitute. 

+10The two teams have met eight times over the last three seasons, including two matches in the U.S. Open Cup. In those eight matches, the Timbers has a goal differential of +10, outscoring the Galaxy 16-6 with four shutouts. 

2Monday's match will be considered the third regular-season match of the 2020 season. Having scored in each of Portland's first two matches, Diego Valeri will be looking to become the first Timbers player in MLS to ever score in the first three matches of the season. In all eras of the club, Ryan Pore is the only Timbers player to have scored in each of the first three games of a season. 

151Since the beginning of the 2013 season, Portland has scored 151 goals in league matches away from home. Only the Galaxy and the New York Red Bulls have scored more goals away from home in that time span.
