Five Timbers players among highest-rated FIFA 21 players; Providence Park to be in game -

The October release of EA SPORTS FIFA 21 is right around the corner and the annual tradition of each player's in-game ratings have started to be unveiled by the globally popular game. Five different Portland Timbers player feature in the top 10 of MLS in key FIFA 21 ratings.


Leading the way is Diego Valeri who has an overall rating of 79 which puts him as the seventh-highest rated player in the league. Among league midfielders specifically, the Argentine maestro is ranked third and is joined by Yimmi Chara at No. 6 (77 rated overall) and Sebastían Blanco at No. 8 (76 rated overall).


On the defensive side, Portland goalkeeper Steve Clark, with a 73 rating overall, is No. 9 among MLS 'keepers.

Among some of the key player attributes, Valeri's card has some fun ratings. His passing is at 80 which is the best in MLS, his shooting rating at 77 is fifth in the league while his dribbling rating is at No. 7 with an 81 rating. On the speed front, Yimmi Chara is the fifth-fastest rated player in MLS with a blazing 91 rating. On the physical attribute-side, Timbers defender Larrys Mabiala is sixth in the league with an 83 rating.

But among the biggest news yesterday as player ratings came out was the unveiling of Providence Park as the newest MLS stadium to be featured in the game. The Timbers' home field becomes just the sixth MLS field to be featured in FIFA.
