Jeremy Ebobisse, Timbers @ Houston, 6.23.21

HOUSTON – Midfielder Dairon Asprilla chipped in a second half goal while Jeremy Ebobisse scored a stoppage time equalizer and the Portland Timbers came from behind to draw 2-2 with the Houston Dynamo Wednesday night at BBVA Stadium.

Match Moments
13' - CHANCE (HOU) - A Houston cross from the outside was tipped by Timbers goalkeeper Aljaz Ivacic but the ball still found Dynamo forward Tyler Pasher. Pasher tried to shoot it but it got caught in his feet before defender Zac McGraw cleared it away.

15' - GOAL (HOU) - On a Dynamo corner kick, the ball sailed over Ivacic and fell to Houston striker Maxi Urruti. Urruti's hard shot was saved by Ivacic but the rebound was headed into the net by Fafà Picault to put the Timbers down 1-0.

33' - GOAL (HOU) - In the 33rd minute, Houston went up 2-0 as they worked the ball from the right to the left to Matías Vera who found Pasher on the edge of the 18-yard box. Pasher quickly slotted his shot into the back of the goal.

42' - CHANCE (POR) - Following a Dynamo corner kick, the Timbers broke out on the counter down the field. Midfielder Eryk Williamson bolted down the middle, played the ball to his right to defender Pablo Bonilla who quickly fed it back to Williamson inside the box. The midfielder fired his shot but it pinged off the crossbar.

45+1' - CHANCE (POR) - A great ball over the top found forward Jeremy Ebobisse inside the Houston box. Ebobisse slid the ball to defender Claudio Bravo who then fed it to midfielder Dairon Asprilla on the left side. Asprilla went direct to goal but his hard-angled shot was deflected away by Houston goalkeeper Marko Maric.

50' - GOAL (POR) - Energized coming out of halftime, Portland scored to make it 2-1 in the 50th minute. On a lightning-quick counter, Timbers defender Larrys Mabiala headed the ball following a Houston corner to Renzo Zambrano in their own defensive end. Zambrano chipped the ball up to Asprilla who took off like a rocket down field with Bravo on his left. Asprilla played out to Bravo with a 2v1 advantage before Bravo sent it back to Asprilla who then deftly lifted the ball over the 'keeper for his third goal of the season and second in as many games.

56' - SAVE (POR) - Houston's Urruti turned and fired a curling shot from just outside the box but Ivacic made a diving save to deny the attempt.

90+1' - GOAL (POR) - Portland equalized in second half stoppage time in dramatic fashion. Mabiala, up field following a Timbers free kick, performed a nice give-and-go with Bravo on the edge of the box before dribbling out wide right. The defender then turned and whipped in a perfect cross to Ebobisse in the six-yard box who jumped and snapped his header down into goal to even the score at 2-2.
