Thorns FC sign Raisa Strom-Okimoto, Taylor Porter as National Team Replacement players

PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Thorns FC today announced that the club has signed forward Raisa Strom-Okimoto and midfielder Taylor Porter as National Team Replacement players.


Strom-Okimoto joins Thorns FC following a stint with KC NWSL to begin the 2021 season. She made her professional debut with the Utah Royals FC against Thorns FC on June 21, 2019, featuring in eight games with the club across the 2019 and 2020 campaigns. Collegiately at the University of Hawai’i, Strom-Okimoto logged 22 goals and 13 assists in 67 appearances. She was selected to the Big West First Team for three consecutive years (2016, 2017, and 2018) and named the Big West Conference Player of the Year in 2018.

Porter joins Portland from UDG Tenerife Egatesa in the Spanish first division. Previously, she played for ZFK Spartak Subotica in Serbia, featuring for the club in UEFA Women’s Champions League action, and with the Orlando Pride in 2019. A North Carolina State alum, Porter appeared in and started 85 matches, tallying six goals and five assists during her collegiate career. She was a part of the Wolfpack's three consecutive NCAA Tournament berths from 2016-18, which included a pair of Sweet 16 appearances. 



National Team Replacement players can be signed when a national team player is away on international duty and will not count against the team’s roster limit.
