As the Timbers save goals, we also bring awareness on ways to save lives. For each of the first 40 Timbers’ saves in a season, a donation is made to Saves for Lives, an innovative program that donates automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to non-profit community organizations across Oregon and SW Washington. AEDs are an important part of any cardiac safety plan to reduce the impact of sudden cardiac arrest. The Saves for Lives program is a collaboration with Providence Sports Medicine and the Portland Timbers in partnership with Providence Heart Institute.
