Timbers2 have signed Argentine forward Florián Monzón, who will join T2 on a one-year loan.
Monzón, 22, joins T2 on loan from Buenos Aires-side Club Atlético Vélez Sarsfield of the Primera División, Argentina’s top flight. While on loan with Club Almirante Brown during the 2022 season, Monzón featured in 33 matches and tallied five goals and three assists in Primera Nacional play.
A product of Vélez Sarsfield’s academy, Monzón made his professional debut with the club on October 28, 2020, in a Copa Sudamericana match against Club Atlético Peñarol. The Tucumán native made eight appearances for Vélez Sarsfield in the 2020-2021 season, registering one goal. Monzón also had a short stint with Club Atlético Platense during the 2021 campaign, playing in six matches and adding one assist.
