Haugli loaned to USL Championship side Phoenix Rising FC for the 2022 season
HILLSBORO, Ore. – Timbers2 have signed defender Sivert Haugli to a one-year contract with a club option year, the club announced today. Selected in the 2022 MLS SuperDraft by the Timbers, Haugli will join USL Championship side Phoenix Rising FC on loan for the 2022 season. T2 retain the right to recall Haugli this season.
In 2021, the Norwegian defender played with USL League Two side Des Moines Menace. Haugli appeared in nine matches for the Menace, scoring two goals in 598 minutes. Haugli, 22, made 71 appearances (all starts) at Virginia Tech, scoring four goals and tallying three assists in his four-year career. The Oslo, Norway native was named the No. 39 overall player in the country by Top Drawer Soccer. In 2020-21, Haugli led the team in minutes played (1,541) and earned Academic Honor Roll accolades in 2020.
