Portland Thorns FC captain Christine Sinclair is one of 29 players selected to Canada Soccer's two-week preparation camp next month.
The camp is being held ahead of the 2021 SheBelieves Cup, where Canada will be joined by Brazil, Japan and the host nation, the United States, for a round-robin tournament from February 18 and 24. Canada is set to announce their official, 23-player tournament roster in the days before SheBelieve's start.
According to Canada Soccer's announcement, "The pre-competition camp will provide Canada’s players who are currently out of season an opportunity to connect on the pitch before the four-team international tournament kicks off Canada’s 2021 season in the build-up to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games."
Sinclair, one of 11 National Women's Soccer League players named to the camp, has 296 career appearances for her national team, including a world record 186 international goals.
