In Monday's Algarve Cup action, Thorns FC forward Christine Sinclair and midfielder Dagný Brynjarsdóttir squared off in a tense match-up between group leaders Canada and Iceland.

Sinclair, who also started in Canada's opening match against Denmark, assisted on Janine Beckie's 42nd minute goal. That goal proved to be the match-winner as Canada wrapped up the group and earned itself a spot in Wednesday's final against Brazil.

Meanwhile, in the group's other match, Nadia Nadim started and played the full 90 minutes as Denmark lost 2-1 to Belgium. Denmark has lost each of its last two matches after starting the tournament with a shocking 1-0 win over the Canadians.

Thanks to its head-to-head result against Iceland, Canada now advances to the Algarve Cup Final against Brazil on Wednesday, March 9. Brynjarsdóttir and Iceland will play New Zealand in the consolation game, also on the 9th.
