PORTLAND, Ore. – Thorns FC played to a 1-0 loss against OL Reign in a hard-fought match Saturday night at Providence Park in 2022 NWSL Challenge Cup play.

13' - CHANCE (POR) - Defender Madison Pogarch beat her defender on the left wing and lofted a cross towards goal that began to drift on frame. Reign goalkeeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce was forced to leap and punch the ball away to her left.
16' - CHANCE (POR) - Midfielder Hina Sugita sent a beautiful diagonal ball forward on the fly for Natalia Kuikka to run onto in the Reign box. She fired a shot towards goal that was deflected by ultimately saved by Tullis-Joyce.
38' - CHANCE (POR) - After a period of sustained pressure in front of the Reign net, the ball was poked out wide left where Kuikka cleverly chipped the ball up and over the defender, raced around her, and then volleyed a laser that hit the side netting.
48' - CHANCE (POR) - Kuikka cut in towards the top of the arc and hit a left-footed shot that went just over the crossbar.
56' - CHANCE (POR) - Kuikka again nearly scored when she found space to hit a side-winding shot that Tullis-Joyce had to dive to parry over the goal.
65' - CHANCE (POR) - Midfielder Olivia Moultrie was sprung forward upfield on the left side. She took a touch and crossed a ball in towards the mixer that Morgan Weaver headed high.
69' - SAVE (POR) - Goalkeeper Abby Smith was on her toes as a a cross from the left found OL Reign forward Bethany Balcer. Balcer one-timed a quick shot but Smith got own to block and gather.
74' - GOAL (OLR) - The Reign took a 1-0 lead when, against the run of play, Jessica Fishlock threaded a ball through to Rose Levelle in the box who scored.
