Portland Thorns FC have seven players away on international duty with their respective national teams during the February FIFA window, while two players have joined preseason training as non-roster invitees.
A total of five players will be competing at the SheBelieves Cup, including Crystal Dunn and Becky Sauerbrunn with the USWNT, Janine Beckie and Christine Sinclair with Canada and Hina Sugita for Japan. Rocky RodrÃguez and Costa Rica are set to participate in Revelations Cup, playing matches against Colombia, Mexico and Nigeria. Notably, 2023 NWSL Draft pick goalkeeper Lauren Kozal is in Paris with the U.S. U-23 WNT during the FIFA window.
The SheBelieves Cup kicks off on Wednesday with Japan taking on Brazil at 1 p.m. (Pacific) followed by the USWNT against Canada at 4 p.m. (Pacific). Both matches will be broadcast on HBO Max. The second day of the tournament takes place on Feb. 19 with the US squaring off against Japan at 12:30 p.m. (Pacific) on HBO Max and TNT and Canada against Brazil at 3:30 p.m. (Pacific) on HBO Max. The final day of the tournament on Feb. 22 features Canada vs. Japan at 1 pm PT on HBO Max with the tournament finale between the USWNT and Brazil set for 4 p.m. (PT) on both HBO Max and TNT.
Costa Rica opens play in the Revelations Cup on Wednesday with a match against Colombia at 11:00 a.m. (Pacific). On Feb. 18, Costa Rica takes on Mexico at 2 p.m. (Pacific) before concluding the round-robin style tournament against Nigeria on Feb. 21, at 3 p.m. (Pacific). Kozal and the U.S. U-23s will play a pair of matches against France on Feb. 17 and Feb. 20.
Thorns FC have invited midfielder Sydney Pulver and defender Chaylyn Hubbard to join the team as non-roster invitees for preseason training. The 25th overall pick in the 2022 NWSL Draft out of Washington State, Pulver spent her rookie campaign with San Diego Wave FC. Hubbard, who went undrafted, played five seasons at TCU, appearing in 105 games (all starts) with two goals and nine assists.
