Thorns FC defender Becky Sauerbrunn earned her 200th career national team appearance as the United States drew 0-0 with the Czech Republic last night in the USWNT's opening game of the 2022 SheBelieves Cup.

Coming on in the 72nd minute for Tierna Davidson, Sauerbrunn became just the 12th player – and only second defender – to achieve the feat in USWNT history. A two-time World Cup champion and 2012 Olympic gold medalist, Sauerbrunn has started in 169 of her 200 caps.

Fellow Thorns teammate Sophia Smith also started the match and played 60 minutes. The USWNT will next face New Zealand on Feb. 20 (12pm PT, ABC).

Elsewhere in international action, Thorns midfielder Rocky Rodríguez had a goal and an assist as Costa Rica defeated St. Kitts and Nevis 7-0 in the first round of Concacaf W qualifiers for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.

Costa Rica will next play the U.S. Virgin Islands in a road match on Feb. 20 (4pm PT). In group play, Costa Rica will take on Guatemala, Saint Kitts and Nevis, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Curacao.
