Her 14 goals this year broke the record set by Lindsey Horan in 2018.
With her two goals against Gotham FC on Saturday, Sophia Smith made history. Her 14 regular season goals broke the regular season scoring record set by Lindsey Horan in 2018 (13).
Heading into the game, Smith was already only the fourth player in club history to score double-digit goals in a season. The US international is having a hell of a season.
In total, Smith now has 21 all-time goals as a Thorn, a feat she's accomplished in only two seasons. She's now the fourth most prolific Thorn, behind Christine Sinclair (55 goals), Allie Long (30), and Lindsey Horan (25).
