The World Comes To Portland

The Women’s International Champions Cup comes to Portland this week with Thorns FC hosting the Houston Dash, Spain’s FC Barcelona Feminí and France’s Olympique Lyonnais.

Portland takes on the Dash Wednesday, Aug. 18 at 8pm PT with Barcelona facing Lyon at 5:30pm PT. Tickets get you into both games for the day.

The winners from those games will face off in a championship game on Saturday, Aug. 21 at 7pm PT with the third place game beginning at 4:30pm PT. Again, tickets are good for both matches on the day.

The four participants each qualified for the WICC by winning championships in their 2020 tournaments, competitions, and leagues. The Thorns host the tournament and have qualified as winners of the 2020 NWSL Fall Series and of the 2021 NWSL Challenge Cup. Olympique Lyonnais, qualified as winners of the 2020 UEFA Women’s Champions League and 2020 D1 Féminine, the Houston Dash qualified as winners of the 2020 NWSL Challenge Cup, and FC Barcelona Femení, qualified as winners of the 2020 Primera División winners.

BBQ Road Trip

The Portland Timbers take to the road this week facing Sporting Kansas City on Aug. 18, (5:30pm PT, FOX 12 PLUS) before a quick turnaround to take on Austin FC in Texas on Aug. 21 (6pm PT, FOX 12 PLUS).
