Thorns FC forward Sophia Smith sustains mild MCL sprain

Smith’s status is week-to-week, and she will undergo rehabilitation with Thorns FC sports medicine staff

PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Thorns FC announced today that forward Sophia Smith sustained a mild medial collateral ligament (MCL) sprain in her right knee. 

Smith’s status is week-to-week, and she will undergo rehabilitation with Thorns FC sports medicine staff.

The Thorns FC forward sustained the injury in the first half of Portland’s 1-1 draw against the Washington Spirit on Aug. 27 at Audi Field.
