No. 2 Portland set to host NWSL playoff semifinal match at Providence Park on Nov. 5 at 4 p.m. (Pacific). Tickets go on sale Tuesday Oct. 17.

PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Thorns FC dropped a 5-1 result to Angel City FC on Sunday afternoon at BMO stadium, with Portland’s lone goal coming from Hina Sugita. Securing the No. 2 seed in the 2023 NWSL Playoffs, Thorns FC earned a quarterfinal bye and will play host to a semifinal match on Sunday, Nov. 5; kickoff is set for 4 p.m. (Pacific) at Providence Park. Portland will play the winner of the quarterfinal match between the No. 3 seed North Carolina Courage and No. 6 NJ/NY Gotham FC on Oct. 22.

Golden Boot
Sophia Smith recorded her second consecutive double-digit goal scoring season, tallying 11 goals. She is the first player in club history to register 10 or more goals in consecutive seasons. The Thorns FC forward secured her first career NWSL Golden Boot, making her the first Portland player to achieve this accolade.

ACFC – Jun Endo (Alyssa Thompson), 80th minute: Alyssa Thompson controlled the ball in the midfield and passed it to Jun Endo, who from the left side of the field dribbled inside the 18-yard box and sent a left-footed shot into the bottom left corner of the goal.
