Thorns FC unveil new primary, secondary jerseys for 2019 NWSL season

2019 Thorns Kit Press Release, 4.13.19

PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Thorns FC unveiled their new primary and secondary jerseys for the upcoming 2019 NWSL season at a special launch event, presented by Providence Health & Services, at The Xport Bar and Lounge in the Porter Hotel on Wednesday night.

In partnership with Nike, the customized 2019 kits were inspired by the City of Portland, the incredible fans in the North End and world-class athletes on the pitch. The combination of bespoke design and Fast-Fit technology is what makes the 2019 kits so unique and inspiring.

The primary kit features a striking interlocking red and black design inspired by the Portland flag framing the red smoke that the Rose City Riveters set off in the North End of Providence Park when Thorns FC score a goal. The secondary kit displays an all-white design of grey smoke, echoing the home energy while the team is on the road. The kit is completed with an interlocking rose stem on the back-neck tape of the jersey and the back of the knee-high socks.

Providence Health & Services enters it seventh season as the club’s official jersey sponsor, while Jersey Mike’s Subs enters its first year as a club partner and is featured on the back of both the primary and secondary jerseys.

The jerseys will go on sale Friday, March 15, at 12:01 a.m. (Pacific) on www.shopthornsfc.com and at the Timbers and Thorns FC Team Store, located at 1967 W. Burnside Street, between NW 20th Ave. and NW Trinity Place, beginning at 11 a.m. (Pacific) on March 15. The 2019 jerseys will be available in women’s authentic (primary and secondary), men’s replica (primary and secondary), women’s replica (primary and secondary) and youth (primary only) options.

Additionally, a special ancillary product line inspired by the jerseys will be launched later this spring.

Thorns FC open up their 2019 NWSL campaign on the road against the Orlando Pride on Sunday, April 14, at Orlando City Stadium; kickoff is set for 2 p.m. (Pacific).
