Thorns FC's Tobin Heath named to 2019 Ballon d’Or shortlist

Thorns FC midfielder Tobin Heath was named a finalist for France Football magazine's 2019 Ballon d’Or award recognizing the best female player in the world.


The creative and dynamic midfielder contributed three goals and three assists in 13 matches for the Thorns in 2019. Heath's 2019 campaign also six appearances for the U.S. Women's National Team at the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup, contributing an assist as the USWNT captured their fourth title.

The award will be voted on by a collection of 50 soccer journalists from around the world with the finalists and winner being announced on Dec. 2 in Paris.
