Portland Thorns FC return from their midseason break Friday when they travel to take on Racing Louisville FC (5pm PT, Paramount+) with an eight-game unbeaten streak in hand. Here are five numbers to know ahead of the game.

The Thorns have scored 29 goals through 12 matches played this season – the most by any team through the first 12 matches of a campaign in NWSL history. Portland also leads the league with a +19 goal differential, which is +11 more than the next best goal differential in the league.

Portland is the first NWSL team in league history to register five shutout wins with three or more goals scored (KC Current, Angel City, Houston, Orlando, Gotham FC) in a season. The Thorns set the new record in just 12 matches played.

The Thorns are the only undefeated team on the road this season, collecting seven points (1-0-4) in five road matches. Notably, Portland has scored multiple goals in four of their five road matches in the 2022 campaign.

Midfielder Yazmeen Ryan leads the NWSL with four assists this season. Additionally, Ryan has recorded one goal and three assists in Portland’s last four matches.

Portland will have seven players returning from international duty ahead of the July 29 match – Janine Beckie, Sam Coffey, Natalia Kuikka, Rocky Rodríguez, Becky Sauerbrunn, Christine Sinclair and Sophia Smith.
