The soccer community mourns the passing of Stanford University and U.S. youth international goalkeeper Katie Meyer – a teammate and friend.
Throughout the Thorns Preseason Tournament, the Thorns will donate $100 per goal, $100 per save and $250 per shutout to promoting mental wellness and the prevention of suicide through Lines for Life. Club partner Providence Health & Services will donate $2,500. We encourage you to consider helping, too. You can find information at LinesForLife.org. Additionally, the Chicago Red Stars and OL Reign will join the Thorns in the donation efforts, contributing to local organizations focused on mental wellness and suicide prevention.
It is important to remember that we can all help by reaching out to loved ones during the toughest of times. Our connections to each other are key, and we can all be a part of helping build hope, every day. If you or someone you know is struggling, help and hope are available. Please call 800-273-8255 to get help.
There will be a moment of silence prior to the Thorns-Red Stars preseason match kickoff on Saturday (5pm PT).
