Timbers sign defender Eric Miller to new contract

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Timbers today announced that the club has signed defender Eric Miller to a two-year deal through the 2025 season.

Miller, 30, returns to Portland ahead of the 2024 campaign after registering 21 appearances (12 starts) and an assist for the Timbers in the 2023 season. Across his 10-year career, the veteran defender has made 186 MLS appearances (148 starts), including playoffs, and has tallied four assists.

Originally drafted by the Montreal Impact as the fifth overall pick in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft, Miller has featured in multiyear stints with Montreal (2014-15), Colorado Rapids (2016-17), Minnesota United (2018-19), New York City FC (2019) and Nashville (2020-22).
