PORTLAND, Ore.
– The Portland Timbers have come to terms with midfielder Andrew Gregor, it was announced Thursday.
“We’re delighted to have Andrew on board with the club,” said head coach Bobby Howe. “He’s a very skillful, creative midfield player and will add to the strength of our squad.”
Gregor began the season with the Vancouver Whitecaps, appearing in one game before being released May 6. He spent the 2002-03 seasons playing in Seattle, where he was a two-time, first team All-A-League selection for the Sounders while collecting 42 points on 16 goals and 10 assists.
Selected in the second round (21st overall) of the 1998 MLS College Draft by the Columbus Crew, Gregor spent the 1998 season with Columbus before appearing in 13 games for the Kansas City Wizards in 2001.
A native of Beaverton, Ore., Gregor spent his collegiate career at the University of Portland under Clive Charles from 1994-98 and played previously at Sunset High School and F.C. Portland Academy.
