Timbers pass 500,000 fan mark against Carolina

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Timbers passed the 500,000 regular-season attendance mark May 27 as 5,026 fans watched a 0-0 draw against the Carolina Railhawks at PGE Park.




Prior to the match, the Timbers needed just over 500 to eclipse the half-million milestone with 499,468 fans attending regular-season Timbers matches.




The 500,000th fan was Valerie Roska of Wilsonville, Ore. She and her family were honored at  halftime and given a team-autographed soccer ball and complimentary tickets to the Timbers international exhibition match against Preston North End on July 28 at PGE Park.




Including Sunday's attendance, the Timbers have had 504,289 fans attend regular-season matches at PGE Park since 2001.




The Timbers hit the road for their next matches on June 8 and 9, but return home for an international friendly against Champions League champion AC Milan's U-21 team on June 19 at PGE Park.
