Timbers U-23s return home to host Spokane Friday

PORTLAND, Ore.
– The Portland Timbers U-23s return home from a season-long, three-game road stretch to play host to the Spokane Spiders on Friday at Tigard High School in Tigard, Ore.; kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.




Tickets for the Timbers U-23s home match will be available for purchase at the door.




The Timbers U-23s (10-0-0, 30pts) enter the final month of the regular season on a team-record, 10-game winning streak. After a 10-break, the Timbers U-23s will play their second game in three days on Friday; the team captured a 2-1 road win over the Tacoma Tide on Wednesday.




With six regular-season matches remaining, the Timbers U-23s hold the top spot in the Premier Development League’s Northwest Division, and remain the league’s lone undefeated team. Goalkeeper

leads the league in fewest goals allowed (3), wins (9) and goals-against average (0.32), and shares the lead in shutouts with six.




The Timbers U-23s face the Spiders (1-8-2, 5pts) for the second time this season. The two sides last met May 21 in Spokane, with the Timbers U-23s earning a 3-0 win. Forward

Spokane ranks eighth in the Northwest Division, and opens its final road trip of the 2010 season Friday in Oregon.
