Construction Continues, MLS Commish Garber To Visit For Official Groundbreaking

New stadium renovations continue apace this week with huge pieces of steel and concrete coming down at a thrilling rate. All of the decks--including the center field deck and the Fred Meyer Family deck--have been removed with the steel I-beams being sorted and recycled.  The old scoreboard was removed along with two of the light poles leaving the entire eastern wall almost completely devoid of any attachments.

All of this work is being done in advance of the arrival of Major League Soccer Commissioner Don Garber, who will be in Portland to commemorate the official groundbreaking on Tuesday, Sept. 21. Joining him will be Owner/President Merritt Paulson, City of Portland officials, and of course, Timber Joey.

That day will also mark the launching of our live renovation webcam. Running 24/7, you'll be able to visit at any time to watch how everything is coming down and how it all will then go back up. Check back here on Sept. 21 to find the direct link.
