Though the Timbers lost 1-0 on a late stoppage time goal against the Colorado Rapids last Saturday night, Portland dominated large stretches of the game and had a game that head coach John Spencer said was the, "best we played in the last month."
Rookie Darlington Nagbe was electrifying, Diego Chara did well in the midfield, and Jorge Perlaza and Kenny Cooper had some excellent back and forth play up top. However, it was Troy Perkins that earned the CenturyLink Man of the Match for the second game in a row due to his excellent play between the posts. He made six saves on the night and kept the Timbers in the game throughout.
