CenturyLink Man of the Match vs. Toronto FC: Eddie Johnson

MOTM vs. TFC, Eddie Johnson

The Portland Timbers watched all the momentum from a two-goal lead sucked out in the final 20 minutes of Saturday's match as Toronto FC equalized in the 81st minute to earn a share of the points in a 2-2 draw at JELD-WEN Field.

Forward Eddie Johnson helped propel the Timbers to a strong start. His energy up front as the lone striker in the formation and ability to consistenly threathen with well-timed runs and on-target strikes led to his first career MLS goal in the 23rd minute. Following a nice string of passes between Sal Zizzo and Diego Chara, Johnson cut the ball inside and blasted a shot past TFC goalkeeper Stefan Frei. With just more than 3/4 of the vote, Johnson was the runaway winner of the CenturyLink Man of the Match.

Eddie Johnson - 75.36%

Mike Chabala - 13.31%

Diego Chara - 6.80%

David Horst - 2.83%

Lovel Palmer - 1.70%
