FC Tucson announces tickets are on sale for Tucson Desert Friendlies

Tucson, AZ — FC Tucson announced that tickets to all of The Desert Friendlies are officially on sale. The Portland Timbers will take part in the series of preseason matches with games against the Colorado Rapids on Jan. 29, Sporting Kansas City on Feb. 1, Seattle Sounders on Feb. 5, and FC Tucson on Feb. 8. All matches will be played at Kino Sports Complex.


Fans can purchase their tickets directly by going to www.fctucson.ticketsocket.com. They can also visit www.fctucson.com and click on the “Tickets” tab at the top of the page.


Fans can also get special access to a discount code if they sign up for the official FC Tucson mailing list. To sign up, fans must head to the team’s Facebook page at www.Facebook.com/FCTucson and click on the “Join our mailing list!” icon at the top of the page, next to “Likes.”

Timbers players and coaches are scheduled to report for preseason on Saturday, Jan. 19, and will begin preseason training Monday, Jan. 21. The Timbers will train in Portland for the first week of preseason before departing for a nearly two-week camp in Tucson from Jan. 27 to Feb. 9. 

The Desert Friendlies are part of a month long Tucson SoccerFest which includes the Canada-Denmark International Friendly, The Desert Friendlies presented by FC Tucson and the FC Tucson Desert Diamond Cup. A total of 17 matches, featuring nine MLS clubs and two international squads, will take place between January 26 and February 23. The closing match of Tucson SoccerFest, the final for the FC Tucson Desert Diamond Cup, will be televised live on NBC Sports Network on prime time television on the east coast at 6 p.m. local time.
