Portland Timbers announce multi-year extension with broadcast partner KPTV FOX 12

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Timbers reached a multi-year contract agreement with television broadcast partner KPTV FOX 12 ahead of the 2016 Major League Soccer (MLS) season, it was announced today. FOX 12 has been a broadcast partner with the Timbers since the team’s inaugural MLS season in 2011.

“KPTV has been a terrific broadcast partner since our inaugural MLS season, and we are very pleased to renew our partnership for the 2016 season and beyond,” said Mike Golub, president of business operations for the Timbers.


The oldest television station in Oregon with a longstanding commitment to covering local issues and stories in both Oregon and Southwest Washington, FOX 12 and sister station KPDX Channel 49 again will broadcast numerous Timbers matches during the season as part of the renewed partnership.

A complete broadcast schedule that will include a full listing of Timbers games featured on KPTV, KPDX, ROOT SPORTS and national broadcast partners will be announced at a later date. Additionally, FOX 12 remains the home of the Timbers’ weekly show, “Timbers in 30,” which will air each Friday during the season at 6:30 p.m. (Pacific). The show features exclusive, inside access, showing the club’s inner-workings and personalities while also providing insightful team and game analysis with in-studio appearances from Timbers coaches and players each week.
