16' - GOAL (SJ) - The Quakes scored first as San Jose came down on the break. Jahmir Hyka cut across the field from the right to left before passing the ball to Vako Qazaishvili. He took a touch and then placed the ball into the lower right corner of the net to put the Timbers behind 1-0.

22' - SAVE (POR) - Portland goalkeeper Jeff Attinella came across the goal to deny a close shot from San Jose's Hyka.

24' - CHANCE (POR) - The Timbers came close to equalizing when midfielder Dairon Asprilla, on the right side, cut a ball back for Valeri near the top of the box. The midfielder's skipping shot beat Quakes 'keeper Andrew Tarbell but bounced just wide of the left post.

49' - GOAL (SJ) - The Quakes doubled their lead just after the half when Chris Wondolowski threaded a ball to Danny Hoesen at the edge of the box. The forward's low shot found the left corner and put San Jose up 2-0.
