2016 Team of the Week (Wk 14): Gleeson, Ridgewell and Chara part of defensive effort in win

Gleeson, Ridgewell, Chara, TOTW, 6.3.16

There were only six games in Week 14, as MLS winds down for Copa America Centenario, but one team separated themselves with another win.

It says something about a team's defensive effort when a team is down to only ten men for a whole half and three of them make the MLS Team of the Week.

Portland Timbers goalkeeper Jake Gleeson, defender Liam Ridgewell and midfielder Diego Chara were all part of the winning side in helping shut out the San Jose Earthquakes 1-0 on Wednesday night. Gleeson had three saves, Ridgewell had seven clearances and Chara had four interceptions and three tackles all with their team playing down a man for the second half.
