Five Thorns FC players selected for U.S. Women's National Team camp ahead of July 9 match

PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Thorns FC midfielders Tobin Heath, Lindsey Horan and Allie Long and defenders Meghan Klingenberg and Emily Sonnett have been named to the U.S. Women’s National Team’s 24-player training camp roster ahead of a friendly match against South Africa on July 9.
Heath (118 caps), Horan (18 caps), Klingenberg (63 caps), Long (8 caps) and Sonnett (9 caps) were all in camp with the U.S. Women’s National Team in June ahead of a pair of friendly matches against Japan. Heath, Horan, Long and Klingenberg all made appearances in both matches.
The United States will play two Olympic send-off matches, starting with a game against South Africa on July 9, at Soldier Field in Chicago; kickoff is set for 10 a.m. (Pacific) time on FS1. The second match is set for July 22 against Costa Rica at Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kan. The game on July 22 will be broadcast on ESPN at 6 p.m. (Pacific).
