Was there really any question? Troy Perkins put on a clinic of timely and stellar saves on Tuesday night to help the Portland Timbers pull out a road point in the 0-0 draw against the Houston Dynamo. It was his second straight shutout and third in his last four starts.
While the Portland offense was held scoreless, Perkins was credited with seven saves on the night. Though Diego Chara, Lovel Palmer, and Hanyer Mosquera all helped defensively for the boys in green, it was clear that Perkins was the lynchpin holding the line for Portland.
