The Storyline

The Portland Timbers (10-8-7, 37pts) enter Matchday 29 in sixth place of the Western Conference, tied on points with fifth-place LAFC. With nine matches to go before the end of the current campaign, Portland will travel for five matches and host four over the next two and a half months.

Portland and FC Cincinnati will face off for just the third time in MLS regular season history, and for the first time in the Rose City. The Timbers hold a record of 0-2-0 in their two meetings with Cincinnati. The two sides last met on April 22, 2023 at TQL Stadium where the Timbers fell 2-1 to to the hosts.

The Timbers are set to face former Portland player Evander for the first time. Portland acquired a club-record $12 million from FC Cincinnati in February for Evander. Timbers forward Kevin Kelsy is also set to face his former team, Cincinnati, for the first time.
