Oregon Governor Kate Brown, City of Portland proclaim June 8-14 Stand Together Week

PORTLAND, Ore. – Both the Governor Kate Brown and the State of Oregon along with the City of Portland have officially declared the week of June 8-14 Stand Together Week. The comprehensive, week-long community initiative supports dozens of nonprofit projects and volunteer opportunities across the city.

In her State of Oregon proclamation, Governor Brown describes Stand Together Week as "an opportunity to promote civic engagement and volunteerism...benefiting local youth, families and the environment."

Stand Together Week is that and more, as over 1,000 volunteers, from Timbers and Thorns FC players to community members, come together to build homes, tend gardens, restore local parks, lead soccer clinics, and repair children's bicycles, among dozens of other activities throughout the week.
