The final three days of the 2022 Stand Together Week saw an explosion of activity all over the city.
Friday saw five different locations with multiple shifts at Habitat for Humanity and Blanchet House. In the morning, Timber Joey joined volunteers from Danner at the Sandy River Delta as part of the Lower Columbia Estuary's work to help to maintain plantings that consist of native species of trees and shrubs. Volunteers helped remove Himalayan blackberry, invasive grass and other invasive species around the base of native plants and within the planting area.
Over at a Habitat for Humanity project in southeast Portland, volunteers from Alaska Airlines and Providence Health & Services met with a host of Timbers and Thorns. Diego Chara, Giovanni Savarese, Meghan Klingenberg and Emily Menges were in the first shift with Rhian Wilkinson, Hunter Sulte, Bella Bixby and Nadine Angerer in the second shift. Both crews worked to help build new homes.
Timber Joey then headed over to Rose Haven to help with a special picnic while Larrys Mabiala, Aljaz Ivacic and Madison Pogarch met up with Providence volunteers at Blanchet House to help plating food in the kitchen and serve meals to guests.
Saturday saw Timber Joey busy over at Harper's Playground with assistance from volunteers from NW Natural before going over to Project Lemonade to check in foster youth shoppers, work the retail floor helping youth find sizes and assist with check out.
Sunday's project closed out the week with Shelby Hogan and Taylor Porter alongside Providence volunteers at Positive Charge PDX helping weed, cut flowers, harvest vegetables, remove invasive species and more at Sunflower Farms.
