It's been a whirlwind few days for new Portland Timbers midfielder David Ayala. After arriving in Portland late last week, Ayala attended the team's final preseason match and saw Portland defeat Real Salt Lake 3-0.
As this week began, Ayala went through initial tests at the Timbers Training Center in Beaverton before taking part in his first full training session with his new teammates.

David Ayala: It is very exciting to be here. The stadium is beautiful and I can’t wait to play there. The first thing that I went back to thinking about is just when I was a little kid and now I'm living my dreams.
David Ayala: I’m very happy to be here. The people of the club have been very nice and welcoming. The city is just beautiful. I’m just happy to be here.
David Ayala: I feel very comfortable and I'm just adapting to my new teammates. It’s a little similar to Argentina, and I’m just trying to adapt myself to a new place.
