#PORvCOL on #RCTID: The DP Show, that GOAL and three points

Social Media Header July 18

PORTLAND, Ore. - It was a perfect night in the Rose City. A warm sunny night set the scene as the Timbers and Rapids had it out on national TV. With two spectaular goals in the second half, the Timbers gave Dan Patrick (yes, that Dan Patrick) and his full crew a full serving of Soccer City, USA, topped with three points. Here's a look back on #PORvCOL and the night in social media.

A soccer supporter, Paul Pabst from the DP Show has sported a Timbers kit from time-to-time on air. He, Dan and the rest of the Danettes made a stop in Portland on their West Coast swing and took in tonight's match. Paulie made his rounds and got the full Providence Park experience

Nearly a month since the Timbers last home match, you could feel the excitement in the air from the supporters.

Adding to the excitement, DP (no the other DP - Designated Player) Liam Ridgewell made his Timbers and MLS debut against the Rapids.

It resembled that 'ol ball and three cups routine, but nonetheless, the Rapids took the lead in the first half.

The Timbers mounted a comeback in the second half, and it was Maxi Urruti with the equalizer following a fantastic build-up.

You do you, Maxi.

What more can you say about Diego Valeri. The guy leads the league in assists, but when called upon can do things like this.

You nailed it, @jakemcclean. An amazing strike. Even DP gave a tip of the cap.

And you know what comes next ... SMOKE!

Two goals, means two log slabs for Timber Joey as he parades them around the park.

One beautiful night, two brilliant goals and three points in the back pocket for the Portland Timbers.

So Paulie, what did you think of your first in-person experience at Providence Park?

Let's hope so, Drew.
