Quick Strikes | No more prolific assists duo this season in MLS than Valeri and Blanco

Diego Valeri, Sebastian Blanco, 3.31.19

For the last time this season, the Portland Timbers will travel to the Eastern Conference, when they take on New York City FC Sunday at Yankee Stadium (3:30pm PT, FS1). Here are five numbers to know for #NYCvPOR in the latest Quick Strikes.

2 The Timbers have won both of their matches at New York City, with 1-0 victories in both 2015 and 2017. Current Timbers players Dairon Asprilla and Diego Valeri delivered the goals in those respective wins.

17 No pair of teammates has delivered more assists this season in MLS than the combined 17 by Valeri and Sebastián Blanco. Valeri's 10 assists are second-most in MLS behind, only NYCFC's Maxi Moralez's 11.

8 In their last 12 competitive matches (all against MLS opponents), the Timbers have compiled a record of 8-3-1 with five road wins. Portland has scored 25 goals in the 12-game period while conceding just 12.

34 Forward Jeremy Ebobisse has played 34 consecutive matches for Portland in MLS and U.S. Open Cup play with the streak starting last September. No MLS player has played more matches for their club in that span.

7 Since making his debut for Portland, Brian Fernandez has scored in all seven of his competitive matches with the club. Fernandez's seven straight matches with a goal is the second-longest streak in the club's all-era history, behind Valeri's nine-game scoring streak in 2017.
