PORTLAND, Ore.
- Individual and group tickets for this Saturday’s Portland Timbers vs. Sunderland AFC match at PGE Park are still available, but moving at a brisk rate as the Premiership club pays a visit to the Rose City.
A member of the English Premier League, Sunderland plays in the same circuit as internationally renowned clubs Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal. Known as the Black Cats, Sunderland is one of the oldest sides in the world and enjoys a global following that is expected to lend more than 300 supporters to Saturday’s exhibition at PGE Park.
Saturday marks the first time the Timbers will host a Premiership club since West Bromwich Albion came to then-Civic Stadium in 1981.
Tickets for the match, which range from $13-$30, are available at area Ticketmaster outlets and at the PGE Park box office. Pavilion suites are sold out for the event, with only a select few field-level suites available.
Groups of 15 or more are encouraged to contact the Timbers ticket office at (503) 553-5555 for discounts of $3-$5 per ticket.
