PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Timbers announced that the club and forward Kris Boyd came to a mutual agreement on Jan. 31 to terminate his contract. Per league and club policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
“We would like to thank Kris for his service to the club and we wish him well in his future endeavors,” said Gavin Wilkinson, Timbers general manager.
Boyd, 29, was signed by the Timbers on Jan. 30, 2012, as a Designated Player. He appeared in 26 league matches, recording seven goals and one assist in his lone season in Portland.
