PORTLAND, Ore.
- Portland Timbers midfielder-defender Edwin Miranda was named to the USL First Division’s Team of the Week, it was announced Tuesday.
Miranda, 24, earned a spot on this week’s team after scoring a spectacular goal from 30 yards out in stoppage time at Vancouver on Friday.
Miranda was previously named the First Division Player of the Week on May 3 and was included on the Team of the Week for May 17.
Portland returns home to PGE Park to do battle with the Puerto Rico Islanders on Thursday, June 16, followed by a home match against Rochester on Saturday, June 18. Both contests kick off at 7 p.m. (Pacific).
