The Portland Timbers are honoring Hispanic Heritage Month on Wednesday, Sept. 18, against the LA Galaxy with Hispanic Heritage Night at Providence Park. To celebrate, the club collaborated with a local artist on a limited edition scarf.
Designed by Portland designer Marilyn Reyes Ayala, the scarf portrays the national flowers of various Hispanic countries in North, Central, and South America, ranging from Colombia's Flor de Mayo flower to Peru's Cantuta flower, the sacred flower of the Incas.
Available only on matchday
A limited amount (150) of Hispanic Heritage scarves will be available at PTFC Authentics locations on matchday, just be sure to get there early while they last!

Marilyn has an extensive portfolio covering cultural and historic artwork. Her main interests lie in culturally relevant design and she’s driven by typograhy, human experiences, and visual storytelling as expressed on her official website. Growing up in a Mexican-American household, soccer played a big role in her upbringing.
"Being Mexican-American, soccer has always had a presence in my life and community", says Reyes Ayala. "Because of this, it’s so special to be able to create this scarf for a community where soccer plays such a huge role, and to acknowledge the club’s Hispanic fan base in such a way".
Timbers are set to host the LA Galaxy at Providence Park on Wednesday, Sept. 18. Kickoff is set for 7:30pm PT.
