Midfielder Dairon Asprilla was named the to the USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 3 of the 2019 season after recording two goals and an assist in T2’s 3-1 victory over Las Vegas Lights FC at Merlo Field on March 23.
Asprilla, on loan from the Timbers for the match, scored his first goal of the match after he powered his penalty kick past Las Vegas goalkeeper Thomas Olsen in the 44th minute of the match. Asprilla completed his brace in the 74th after he received a flicked pass onto his chest from Ryan Sierakowski, before his acrobatic bicycle-kick from the center of the box was fired off the left post and into the back of the net.
Additionally, Asprilla is the second T2 player this season to be named to the USL Team of the Week after Marvin LorÃa (Week 2) scored two goals in a 3-1 win over San Antonio FC on March 16.
Up next, T2 travel to face LA Galaxy II at Dignity Health Sports Park on Saturday, March 30. Beginning at 7 p.m. (Pacific), the match will be streamed live on ESPN+.
