Traffic Advisory in Portland

The Oregon Department of Transportation has begun two interstate rehabilitation projects in summer 2018 that will impact Portland area drivers attempting to come to Providence Park

I-5 at I-84 Rehabilitation Project
The I-5 at I-84 Rehabilitation Project will replace aging concrete and steel on the interchange ramps that connect I-84 and I-5. Three of the four connecting ramps will require closure to all traffic 24-hours a day for up to two weeks each (only one ramp will close at a time).

I-5 Paving Project
The I-5 Repaving Project will repave both north and southbound lanes, including exit and entrance ramps, for six miles of I-5 between the Marquam and Interstate bridges. The project also will replace freeway signage, upgrade ADA ramps and replace the median barriers at a couple key locations.

Beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, July 27 to 5 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3: The right lane of the ramp from I-84 westbound to I-5 southbound will close. This means only one lane is open on I-84 westbound from Lloyd Center to I-5. The far left lane will remain open during this period.

The on-ramps to I-84 westbound from NE 82nd Avenue to I-5 will close from July 25-Aug. 6 and Aug. 17-Aug. 27. The off-ramps will remain open.

Follow signed detour routes. Please also see detour route maps for each project.

The latest information is available online for both the I-5 at I-84 Rehabilitation Project and I-5 Repaving Project.
