Timbers, Beavers single-game tickets go on sale Saturday

PORTLAND, Ore.
- Single-game tickets for the 2005 Portland Beavers and Portland Timbers seasons at PGE Park go on sale Saturday, March 19, at 10 a.m., it was announced today.




In addition, tickets for the recently announced “Rock ’N Roll Doubleheader Tour,” featuring Def Leppard and Bryan Adams, will be available for the first time. The co-headliners begin their 26-date tour at PGE Park on Wednesday, June 1.




Tickets for the 90-plus events on tap for the busy 2005 season can be purchased at PGE Park in addition to Portland-area Ticketmaster outlets. Additionally, single-game tickets can be purchased by phoning Ticketmaster at (503) 224-4400 or on-line at www.ticketmaster.com.




Previously, Beavers and Timbers tickets were available as part of the teams’ full- and partial-season ticket plans. On March 19, fans will be able to purchase individual tickets for any of the Beavers’ 72 home games and 17 Timbers home matches, including an exciting exhibition contest against the Los Angeles Galaxy of Major League Soccer on April 13 and Portland’s July 23 match against Sunderland AFC, a talented team from England vying for promotion to English Premiership.




The Timbers, a member of professional soccer’s USL First Division, open up their home season with an exhibition match against the rival Seattle Sounders on Saturday, April 9. The Beavers, a member of professional baseball’s Triple-A Pacific Coast League, open up their 2005 home season on Friday, April 15, against the defending league-champion Sacramento River Cats.




Beavers individual-game tickets start at $7, while Timbers single-game tickets start at $10. Specially priced $2.99 (Beavers) and $4.75 (Timbers) tickets for the Fred Meyer Family Section at PGE Park are available at select Fred Meyer locations, beginning March 19.




Representatives of the Beavers and Timbers will be on hand at PGE Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 19 to give guided tours of the stadium and its seating options, including a select number of Pavilion Suites and Field Suites available for the upcoming season.
